With 600 miles of groomed trails over rolling foothills, open meadows and majestic State forestlands,

Chautauqua County is a snowmobilers paradise.

Area clubs rely on annual membership dues in order to properly maintain our wonderful trail systems. Membership in a New York based snowmobile club will save more than 50% off annual registration costs. All snowmobiles must be registered in New York State.

Our yearly mission is to:  Develop new trails and maintain existing trails during the off months;  Groom and ride the trails during season.

One of these trails is the Mayville to Westfield - 9 miles of trail
Secondary 49 is essentially the old trolley line from Mayville to Westfield. Trail begins with an intersection with Corridor 4 approximately 1/2-mile southeast of State Route 430.  The trail heads west then north, crosses State Route 430, trail is now on the old trolley line heading north towards Westfield, trail intersects with Secondary 48 and keeps going.  Trail officially ends at Martin-Wright Road.  Trail access continues in 2 directions.  Both are groomed and signed but not on map.  A) West on Martin-Wright Road, cross SR 394, west then north along South Gale Street and north along North Gale Street around the west side of Westfield.  B) North along Allen Road, Bliss Road, and Knight Road all the way into the Village of Westfield.

The new snowmobiling season starts with lots and lots of trail maintenance, new trail development, new bridge work and maintenance, and trail signing that occurs before the snow flies. Our volunteer workers actually spend over one-thousand (1,000) man-hours between Spring, Summer and into late fall.  All of this before the first snowflake falls.

      Oh yeh!
